Malowanie na szkle jako domowy sposób na świecznik, lampion i witraż w jednym

Painting on glass as a home method for creating a candlestick, lantern and stained glass all-in one

Age: from 3 years old

Materials:

  • glass paints
  • acrylic paints
  • brushes and a palette for squeezing paints
  • a cup of water
  • a jar
  • a candle

Each of us has an empty jar at home. In this case, it will serve as a candlestick container, into which you can put a candle. It is an effective decoration of our autumn and winter interior arrangements, in order to spend your free time creatively. This technique requires prior preparation of an idea, pattern. Print it on a printer or just draw it. Remember to reduce or enlarge it to the size of the jar you are going to use. When creating a pattern, you must first paint the contours – the main lines surrounding the individual parts of the pattern. The more spaces surrounded by the contour, painted in a different colour, the better the stained glass effect. Tempera paint can also be applied and mixed on glass, achieving an even greater depth effect.

I suggest using stained glass paints, e.g. by Toma, with which you can create permanent contours resembling those in typical stained glass windows. After drying, they stick firmly to the substrate. After application, a few hours are enough to paint the spaces with tempera paint.

Below are some examples of the effects of children’s artwork.
